Faithful and True
"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True..."
I remember coming across this scripture a couple of years ago, and it struck me that God isn’t just faithful and true; His name is also Faithful and True. They aren’t just His attributes; Faithful and True is who He is.
If you follow the Bible, you will know that names are a significant aspect, and God’s names provide us with a deeper insight into His nature and personality. This is important to us because the whole point of this journey is to know Him. That’s why we are here: to know Him intimately, just as we are known.
I’m writing this because a lot of us have promises from the Lord. Some of us have been waiting for these promises for years, and it feels like the chances of them coming true are getting slimmer by the minute. God is Faithful and True.
The nature of God makes it impossible for Him to lie. Unlike us, His words do not fail. He gives us a vivid description of this in the book of Isaiah.
'For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth, Making it bear and sprout, And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. ' Isaiah 55:10-11
I want you to go back to the words God has spoken over you, and judge Him faithful concerning them, having the full assurance that His words never fail. God is not a tease. He doesn’t introduce us to a promise to leave us high and dry.
Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, for there is no one more deserving of our trust than the one who is called faithful and true.
Thank you for this gentle reminder, Kenny ♥️
